Ever lost your keys or the remote?

Know how much of a pain it can be to find them? Well, we ran across an awesome device that will be available soon. The product StickNFind, which we found on the crowdsourcing site Indiegogo, uses bluetooth tags and your iOS or Android based phone to locate them.

The tags can be pinged to make noise and light up, in addition to showing up on the application’s “radar” screen. The application lets you see approximate distances from your phone or tablet but unfortunately not direction.

The company promises that the applications are more far reaching than simply finding lost keys or remotes (though in all fairness that’s what we are sure most people will use them for).

They posit that their stickers can be attached to your luggage when traveling to assist in  finding  it at the baggage pickup; attached to children’s backpacks (your kids only please) to help keep track of their stuff; or even possibly your wife’s car so you can have some advanced warning when she pulls in.

In addition to the fact that the tags are small (the size of a quarter), the battery in each can be replaced by the user, meaning you don’t have to buy new tag stickers when the battery runs out (but that might be awhile, as the tag’s battery lasts more than a year).

The application will display all your devices in a radar style screen.

Of course, because  don’t the application really doesn’t know direction, the radar screen can only be used to approximate the distance to the Stick-N-Find to your phone.

Once you have the sticker located on the radar screen, you start walking in a specific direction, and see if it gets closer or farther.

A very neat feature is the ability to create a virtual Leash on a sticker, if that sticker moves away more than the approximate selected distance from your phone, your phone will Alarm you. You can even select the type of Alarms per different Stickers.

You can also create a Reverse Virtual Leash:

You put a Sticker on your keys etc, if you forget your phone behind, the sticker on keys will buzz. You will have to have the StickNFind app running on the background for the reverse Virtual leash to work.

The company states that pairing to the sticker is done from within the StickNFind application, on both iOS and Android devices.

That means no need to go to the Settings or Bluetooth menu on your phone.

From within the StickNFind app, you will be able to pair with Stickers that are only very close to the Phone (about 1 foot or less). This ensures you only pair with your stickers, and not your neighbors.

According to the the Indiegogo page, expected pricing will be about $45 per sticker.
